Call for Artists

The Wausau Festival of Arts invites artists to apply through ZAPPlication to be considered for our juried show. Each year be one of 120 fine artists that are selected to share their work with thousands of visitors in historic downtown Wausau.

To apply, please submit:

  • Four images of your artwork

  • One booth photo

  • An artist statement so we can get to know you and your work

Artist Categories & Guidelines

All artwork must be original and created by the exhibiting artist.

Ceramics- Functional, ornamental, and sculptural work using clay as the principal medium. No mass‑produced or machine‑made work is allowed. If multiple pieces of the same design are presented, each must be signed.

Fiber Arts- Includes wearable and non‑wearable fiber, leather, paper, basketry, tapestries, weaving, and hand embroidery.

Glass- Functional, ornamental, and sculptural work using glass as the principal material.

Jewelry- Only artists accepted into the jewelry category may show or sell jewelry. The majority of components must be created by the exhibiting artist.

Mixed Media- 2D or 3D works that combine multiple materials.

Painting- Includes oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, charcoal, graphite, pen and ink, egg tempera, crayon, chalk, and colored pencil.

Photography & Digital Art- Images captured with film or digital cameras and printed using traditional or digital methods. No heavily modified or artificially enhanced work.

Printmaking- Works created using lithography, engraving, etching, woodblock, monoprints, linoleum, or similar techniques.

Sculpture- Three‑dimensional works in any medium.

Wood- Original hand‑tooled, machine‑tooled, turned, or carved wood pieces. May be ornamental or functional.

Metals- Artworks made from metals such as iron, aluminum, or steel, ranging from abstract and modern to traditional and rustic.

Graphic Arts- Two‑dimensional fine art works.
